I
have always wished to see local coach as the manager of the black stars.
Therefore I became very sad when Kwesi Appiah was sacked. With no disagreement,
the GFA management team has appointed one of the world class coaches to manage
the Black Stars.
I
think Avram Grant came in at a critical time, thus, he should be aware that
much will be expected from him because
Ghanaian sports fans can no longer wait for trophy drought any more.
I
just want to give him this one or two advice and I believe should he follow
these advice, he would surely be successful in his encounter.
Firstly,
he should know that he is now the head of the team; as a result, there is the
need for him to take bold decisions by himself. That is to say, he should avoid
any unrelated interference from the FA. The FA’s job is to find a coach for the Black
Star but not to take decision the coach after his appointment.
Secondly,
he should be very careful in the selection of players. This is because I learnt
he is planning of bring Kelvin Prince Boateng and SulleyMuntari back to the
team. With no dispute these two players are one of our best players currently
but what he should know is that they are not discipline. Thus, chances of they
giving himproblems as they did to Kwesi Appiah is very high. This is
becausewhat happened in Brazil was not Sulley’s first time of been indiscipline
but on several occasions.Ifone could remember, he had issues with Ghanaians
which nearly made him miss the 2010 FIFA World Cup after missing out in the
2010 Cup of Nation. Again, he also had problem with honourableMutaka the then
minister of youth and sports.
For
Kelvin Prince BoatengI think the least said about him the better. This is
because he has portrayed to Ghanaians that he will only be available for Black
Stars when they play important matches and that is exactly what he exhibited in
Brazil.
Consequently,
I just want Avram Grant to forget about them and manage those who are available
now and I believe success will be on his side as Milo was successful when he
took the bold decision to get rid of Muntari in 2010 Cup of Nations and finished
second in the tournament.
