Questioned the effect
of league delay on clubs in Ghana, many people worry with the view that the league
delay will deform clubs in Ghana including Kumasi Asante Kotoko to underperform
in Africa next year, but this isn’t so. According to Kotoko’s physical trainer
Awudu Nuhu, “the team has adequate plans for league delay”. Thus, in my view I
think the team’s management has really planned well for the CAF champions’
league than any other competition. Therefore, the league delay has nothing
ridiculous against the performance of Asante Kotoko on the Africa continent
next year should the league delay continues.
Moreover, I think
management team of Kotoko has made good business at the market this season
despite allowing some productive players to leave the club. Besides, the vacuum
has been filled with competent, experienced, intelligent and committed players.
Firstly, we have reinforced the goalkeeping area by bringing in Eric Ofori
Antwi formerly of Amidaus Professionals. Again, the defense has been made
formidable with the signing of Emmanuel Asante and Akwasi Acheampong.
As for the midfield,
the least said about them the better. For every team to play good football
basically rely on the midfield. Since the last three seasons, Kotoko has been
crowned champions of Ghana. Hence, with no dispute Kotoko possess the best
midfield in Ghana and beyond. Furthermore, I think we have strengthened our
attack with the signing of two prolific Ivoirian forwards in the personality of
Ahmed Toure and Mamadou Kone.
I write this piece to
boast the morale of Kotoko fans that; they should not worry about any
negativity to the club. Consequently, not only the premier league have we
prepared for but also the Africa competition as well.
