Nyce Media to launch 2018 Winneba Masquerade Festival on November 24

Friday 24^th November, 2017 will host the Media launch of the 2018 Winneba Masquerade Festival Competition at Winneba Lorry Station, the General Manager of Nyce Media, Bismark Odum Sackey has confirmed.

The 2018 Masquerade Festival Competition marks 60 years since its inception in 1958. It is celebrated on New Year’s Day at Advanced Park in Winneba. 

In an interview, General Manager of Nyce Media, Bismark Sackey, disclosed that the competition had been organised for a number of years amidst challenges. However, those issues had been resolved permanently by kind courtesy of Mr. Alex Bonney, Head of the Mediation Committee. 

He revealed that the launch was basically to inform the media about the upcoming Masquerade Festival Competition and officially invite them as well. He said management was planning to make the event a week-long occasion, not a day's as it used to be.

“There will be a lecture on 26^th December to reminisce 60 years of the competition; we will also look at successes, prospects, failures and the history of the festival. On 27^th December, there will be exhibition of costumes and some of the things being used for the event. Then on 28^th December we shall have a street carnival across the principal street of Winneba. We shall rest for three days and eventually end the week-long event on 1^st January, 2018.” He said.   

The General Manager of Nyce Media pointed out that management had put in much effort to make the upcoming event memorable and greater than the previous years. He said “lots of activities have been included. We are looking forward to collaborate with the National Commission on Culture to grace the occasion. Also, we are going to have a Media launch for the first time since 1958.”

“We are hoping to attract sponsors to make the event massive. I therefore entreat everyone across Ghana and beyond, to be in Winneba on 1^st January, 2018 to witness this rich culture of the Effutu's.” He appealed.

Nyce Media is the Official Organiser for the 2018 Winneba Masquerade Festival Competition. The Organisation was the official advertising agency for the previous edition. It is a Communication and Event Management Organisation located in Winneba with specialisation in festival creation, management and marketing.

Since its establishment, it has worked on occasions such the 2016 Aboakyir Festival and 2017 Winneba Masquerade Festival. It is the originator of the Aboakyir Cup. The Organisation is also into Development Communication and Public Relations.
