“Pay taxes with no resentment” – Rev. Fr. Professor Afful-Broni

Rev. Fr. Professor Afful-Broni

The acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni has urged graduands of the 1st Session of the 22nd Congregation to be responsible employers or employees and pay their taxes duly.

He described the graduands as the future leaders in the various important fields needed for the nation’s holistic development and progress. He therefore encouraged everyone to make meaningful contributions to Ghana’s development agenda.

Rev. Fr. Professor Afful-Broni said this in a speech he delivered at the 22nd Congregation of UEW at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre in Winneba.

“You are our brand and you are the most current and most amazing ambassadors of the University of Education, Winneba. So, be responsible employers or employees and do not be aggrieved when called upon to pay the taxes invested for your development.” He said.

The acting Vice-Chancellor urged them to be determined and enthusiastic about becoming even more resourceful and successful in spite of increasing challenges.

“You are graduating into a real world of opportunities yet there are challenges in the world of work. Certainly, your success will depend greatly on how you apply the many fine theories, principles, techniques and skills in your various work places.” He said.

Rev. Fr. Professor Afful-Broni pleaded with the graduands to show interest in activities of UEW and help management plan the course of the University through collaborations, research and development. He promised to mentor and supervise MPhil and PhD theses of alumni who wish to return to the School of Graduate Studies.
